How it works
- Add everyone taking part, one name per line.
- Set the rules. List any pairs who shouldn’t draw each other, such as couples or roommates, and add a budget and exchange date if you like.
- Draw names. The generator matches everyone at random. Nobody ever draws their own name.
- Share it privately. Copy each person’s private link and send it to them. When they open it, they see only who they’re buying for.
Fair, simple and private
Matches are made with your browser’s cryptographic random number generator, and rules work both ways, so neither person in a pair can draw the other. There are no accounts and no email addresses to collect: everything happens on this page, and each person’s match travels inside their own link.
Tips for a great gift exchange
- Agree on a budget so nobody overspends or feels left out.
- Set the exchange date early, especially if gifts need to be shipped.
- Ask everyone to share a short wish list or a few likes and dislikes.

Frequently asked questions
Can someone draw their own name?
No. Every draw is checked so nobody is ever matched with themselves.
How do I stop couples from drawing each other?
Add each pair on its own line in “Who can’t draw each other”, for example “Alex, Sam”. The rule works both ways.
How does everyone find out who they got?
Copy each person’s private link and send it to them. Opening it shows only their own match. You can also reveal matches one at a time on screen.
Do people need an account or an email address?
No. There’s nothing to sign up for, and SpinJoy never asks for email addresses.
Can the organizer see everyone’s match?
Only if they choose to. Matches stay hidden until you press Reveal or Show all, so the organizer can take part too by sending links without looking.
